Filmed across Los Angeles, Tijuana, Madrid, and London, the film tells its cross-cultural love story through an unconventional cinematic language built almost entirely around simulated video calls, turning screens, distance, and digital communication into the very fabric of the film.
The project grew out of the award-winning short Hold for Applause, selected by more than 120 film festivals and recipient of over 30 international awards. Its Spanish-language feature, Amor en toda la cara, was produced as a SkyShowtime Original in Spain, while Face Love, its independently shot English-language counterpart, premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
Blending romance, comedy, and formal experimentation, Face Love explores identity, language, immigration, and human connection — and what happens to a relationship when suddenly the only way to be together is through a screen.
