FACE LOVE is a bilingual romantic comedy created as a parallel production, shot twice with the same cast in English (Face Love) and Spanish (Amor en toda la cara). Filmed across Los Angeles, Madrid, London, and Tijuana on a smartphone, the film captures the global absurdity of love and connection in a world mediated by screens.

The story follows Daniel, a Brit-Spaniard living in Los Angeles, who travels to Madrid to renew his visa just as a global pandemic shuts down borders. Stranded 5,900 miles away from his new girlfriend, Ana, a Mexican-American in L.A., he must navigate bureaucracy, cultural displacement, and the fragility of a relationship sustained entirely through video calls.

Inspired by the award-winning short Hold for Applause (27 awards, 100+ festivals), the film expands that concept into a feature-length story told entirely through simulated video calls, turning digital limitations into a cinematic language of its own.

The Spanish version, Amor en toda la cara, was released as a SkyShowtime Original and has been recognized in international festivals. The film is currently touring universities and cultural institutions, with screenings supported by the Instituto Cervantes, where writer, director, and actor Gerald Fillmore serves as Artist in Residence in Los Angeles.

Blending humor, romance, and formal experimentation, Face Love explores what it means to connect in an age where intimacy is filtered through technology, and where distance can feel both infinite and immediate.
